Recorded on May 21, 2024, this presentation reviews the findings of the 2024 Seattle Technology Access & Adoption Study, conducted via survey and focus groups by the City of Seattle with 4600 residents.
The session shares data and insight on internet access and use, devices, digital skills, civic participation, training needs, and safety and security concerns. The presentation discusses the first-ever urban Native community members survey and its multi-language approach. The discussion also includes the dashboard, data, and tools others can use.
This was the City’s sixth technology access study since 2000.
Presented by David Keyes, with an introduction by Seattle IT’s Interim Chief Technology Officer Jim Loter and Community Technology Advisory Board Chair Phillip Meng. Also participating in the presentation are research partners Chelsea Benning of Olympic Research and Strategy, Shaun Glaze and Kathleen Perez of Inclusive Data, and Chris Webb of Seattle Central College.
