Low Cost Internet & Computers Webinar, 7/25 @10:30 AM

What are the different options for residents to get low cost Internet (broadband) and a computer at home? What can non-profits do to refer people to the different programs?  Join us for the Home Internet & Computers for Low-Income Residents: A webinar for social service providers & community organizations tomorrow, July 25th 10:30-11:30 AM.

Four companies in our area (Comcast, CenturyLink, Mobile Citizen/InterConnection and Freedom Pop) are offering Internet service for low-income residents for approximately $10/month.  Most are also offering lower cost computers as well.  Learn about their guidelines and how non-profits can work with them to qualify people for the discounts. This webinar, hosted by City of Seattle Community Technology Program, with the Communities Connect Network/EdLab Group, will include panelists from InterConnection, CenturyLink, Connect2Compete/EveryoneOn, and Solid Ground’s ConnectUp. Kate Farmer from Neighborhood House will also share their experience helping people sign up for the discounted service programs.
