SEATTLE – Seattle Channel is honored to receive 11 Northwest Regional Emmy Award nominations from the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). These nominations, announced via social media on Friday, underscore the quality and breadth of programming the Seattle Channel produced in 2024.

The municipal TV station received nominations across a wide range of program categories, including health/medical, environment/science, historical/cultural, and human interest. Notably, the Seattle Channel was nominated in the overall excellence category, which recognizes the innovative work of the station across all departments and functions.

Videographers Chris Barnes and Pete Cassam were recognized for the second year in a row in the video essayist craft category, while City Inside/Out host Brian Callanan was nominated in the short form writing category.

“This year’s Emmy nominations celebrate our Seattle Channel team and their excellence in community storytelling,” said Chief Technology Officer Rob Lloyd. “The Channel’s ability to connect with audiences to share Seattle’s stories has enriched our community for 23 years. We are incredibly proud of the team’s achievements and the standard they’ve set for municipal television.”

“I am heartened by this recognition of Seattle Channel’s stellar work,” said Shannon Gee, Seattle Channel’s general manager. “The team is a unique combination of public servants and engaged storytellers who work tirelessly to highlight and inform our region about the issues and communities that shape our city. Congratulations Seattle Channel!”
