Over 70 community representatives came to City Hall on Aug 7th to share about the amazing work they do helping Seattle’s most vulnerable residents gain technology access and skills. Councilmember Bruce Harrell’s committee unanimously approved funding $320,000 in Technology Matching Funds to support their efforts. From finding a job to thriving in school “Technology is needed for everthing we do” said Eritrean community member, Kiflemariam Sequar, who plans to use the funds to provide a computer lab in the Central district. Other groups are making an impact with projects that range from teaching youth about robotics, helping low vision seniors use assistive technology to developing low power fm radio programs.
Congratulations to all our 2013 Technology Matching Fund Recipients!
