City uses social media during snow response

The City’s Emergency Operations Center (OEC) used social media tools to let residents know how to best respond to this week’s snow storm. More than 300 people started following City of Seattle on Twitter during the week, and many neighborhood blogs added Seattle’s Emergency Information widget to their pages.  Even Mayor McGinn got into the act by creating a video on how to keep street drains clear to prevent flooding.
